The brief
For a tattoo studio, the website is where a stranger decides whether to trust you with their skin. They look at the work, check the styles and the artists, and then either book or drift back to Instagram. Hypnotic Art needed a site that did that job properly, not just a gallery.
The other problem was the diary. Arranging every appointment through phone calls and social media messages eats hours, and a no-show on a day planned around a long session is money the studio does not get back.
The studio also depends on people nearby. Someone searching for a tattoo studio near them has to find it in Google search and on Google Maps, with the right phone number and opening hours.
What we built
- A WordPress site the team can run. Pages for the studio, its styles and how to book, plus an editor the team uses to add new work and news without calling us. For a studio whose portfolio changes every week, that matters more than any design flourish.
- Online bookings with a deposit. Clients can request or book an appointment and pay a deposit at the same time. We are firm believers in deposits for long sessions: they secure the artist’s time and quietly filter out people who were never going to turn up.
- Phones first. Most visitors arrive from social media on a phone, so the layouts start there: large images, fast pages and a booking button that is always within reach of a thumb.
- Local SEO groundwork. Clear page titles and descriptions, structured data describing the business, consistent name, address and phone details, a sitemap, and a website that agrees with the studio’s Google Business Profile. None of it is glamorous, and it is the first thing Google checks.
Technology
The site runs on WordPress. Deposits are taken online through a secure payment provider, so card details never touch the website or its database. Portfolio images are compressed and served in modern formats. A tattoo gallery is image-heavy by nature, and without that work it would crawl on a phone connection, which is where most of its visitors are.
Deliverables
- WordPress website with portfolio and studio information
- Online booking flow with deposit payments
- Mobile-first, responsive design

- Handover and training so the team can update the site
What this project shows
Studios, salons, clinics and personal trainers share the same problem: time booked but not paid for. An online booking system with deposits protects the diary and saves a lot of back-and-forth messaging.
