Plenty of work does not fit a fixed-price package: a handful of changes to an existing site, a WooCommerce checkout that has started misbehaving, a new feature for your app, or a developer on call for the next six months. For that, you can hire WE-DEV by the hour. You choose the service and the number of hours, see the full price including VAT, and pay online in a couple of minutes. We work with businesses anywhere in the UK, and the hours are used by the same developers you speak to.

How many hours will I need?
These are rough guides from the kind of jobs we do every week, not quotes:
- A broken contact form, a layout fix or a plugin conflict: often 1 to 3 hours.
- A new page template in an existing WordPress theme: around 4 to 8 hours.
- A WooCommerce checkout change or a switch of payment provider: roughly 5 to 15 hours.
- A small integration between your website and a CRM or accounting tool: typically 15 to 40 hours.
If your job is bigger than that, or you simply are not sure, send us the details first and we will estimate it before you buy. One practical tip: discounts are worked out per booking, so if you know you will need 20 hours over the coming months, booking them together gets you 15 % off rather than 5 % on two separate blocks of ten.
What happens after you book
- We contact you within one working day to agree the first tasks and the order to do them in.
- Changes are made on a staging copy of your site, not the live one, unless it is an emergency fix.
- You review, we deploy, and we check the change on the live site.
- Time is logged in 15-minute increments and shared with you, so you can see where every hour went and how many are left.
Hours never expire. Use them this week, spread them across the year, or keep a few in reserve for the day something breaks. If you would rather have one fixed price for a new website, see our packages.
Frequently asked questions
Do my hours expire?
No. Prepaid hours never expire. You can use them in one go or spread them over months, and we keep a running balance so you always know how many are left.
How does the 50 % deposit work?
You pay half of the total (including VAT) at checkout and the rest later through a secure payment link. We start work on the deposit, and the balance is due before the hours covered by the deposit run out or before we hand over the finished work, whichever comes first.
Do your prices include VAT?
No. All rates are shown excluding VAT. VAT at 20 % is added at checkout and shown separately on your receipt and invoice.
What counts as an hour?
Time spent on your work: development, design, testing, deployment, and calls or meetings about your project. We log time in 15-minute increments and share a simple timesheet with you.
Can I get a refund for hours I have not used?
Yes, within 14 days of payment you can ask for a full refund of any hours we have not yet used. After that, hours are not refundable, but they never expire. If you are a consumer, you also have the statutory rights explained in our terms and refund policy.
Do you work with clients outside London?
Yes. Hourly work is almost always done remotely, so it makes no difference whether you are in London, Leeds or Glasgow. We agree tasks by email or video call and you review changes on a staging site.
