WE-DEV Enterprise

Big data and migrations, done without drama.

We move, connect and make sense of the data large organisations run on. Every move is rehearsed, every row is counted, and nothing old is switched off until the numbers match.

What we do with data.

One team from the first inventory to the last dashboard, so nothing falls between two suppliers.

Data migration

Old databases, ERPs and CRMs moved to modern platforms. On-premises to cloud, or cloud to cloud.

You get

  • Every table and report listed and mapped
  • Rehearsed, timed runs on real copies
  • Proof that every row arrived

What it can look like a 15-year-old SQL Server ERP moved to Azure while the office works as normal.

  • SQL Server
  • Oracle
  • MySQL
  • PostgreSQL
  • AWS DMS
  • Azure Data Factory

Data platforms

One trusted home for your numbers: a warehouse or lakehouse, fed automatically from every system.

You get

  • Pipelines that run on schedule and say when they fail
  • Clean, documented data models
  • Running costs watched, not guessed

What it can look like sales, stock and finance in one warehouse, refreshed every hour.

  • BigQuery
  • Snowflake
  • Databricks
  • dbt
  • Airflow

Integration

Systems that talk to each other as things happen, with no spreadsheets passed around in between.

You get

  • APIs and event streams between your systems
  • Retries and alerts when something breaks
  • One record of each customer, everywhere

What it can look like web orders reaching the ERP and the warehouse in seconds, not overnight.

  • REST
  • Kafka
  • Webhooks
  • Python
  • Node.js

Reporting

Dashboards your board actually opens, built on numbers everyone agrees on.

You get

  • Each KPI defined once, in writing
  • Figures that refresh on their own
  • Access by role, logged

What it can look like the monthly board pack built from live data instead of ten spreadsheets.

  • Power BI
  • Looker Studio
  • Metabase

Data quality

Duplicates gone, owners named, retention rules applied, and a clear trail behind every number.

You get

  • Cleansing and de-duplication
  • Lineage: where each number comes from
  • UK GDPR retention and access rules

What it can look like hundreds of thousands of customer records cut down to one per real person.

  • Great Expectations
  • dbt tests
  • SQL

Run and support

After go-live we keep it healthy, so the new platform stays fast, safe and cheap to run.

You get

  • Monitoring and alerts, as agreed in the plan
  • Updates, and backups that are test-restored
  • Response times agreed in writing

What it can look like a nightly pipeline that alerts us, not you, when a source is late.

  • Azure
  • AWS
  • Google Cloud
  • Grafana

Six steps. No leap of faith.

Each step ends with something you can read and sign. If a number does not match, we stop and find out why.

  1. Discover

Every system, table, job and report you rely on.

You get An inventory and a risk list

  2. Map

Old fields to new ones, with a rule for each.

You get A mapping you sign off

  3. Build

Scripts and pipelines that copy, clean and check.

You get Code in your own repository

  4. Rehearse

Full dry runs on copies, timed and counted.

    You get A rehearsal report

  5. Switch

On the day agreed, with a way back ready.

    You get A minute-by-minute plan

  6. Prove

Counts and checksums side by side. Then handover.

You get A sign-off pack and the docs

What would your migration look like?

Five quick answers. You see the approach we would start from, and you can send it to us as it is.

How much data?
How many systems?
How long can it be offline?
Personal or regulated data?
Moving to?

We would start with

Live sync, then switch

We copy everything while you keep working, keep the two in step, then switch over in minutes.

Where the time usually goes, step 1 to 6.

Included

  • Row counts and checksums on every table
  • A tested way back at every step
  • Change data capture to keep both in step
  • A data protection impact assessment (DPIA)
  • Masked copies for testing, every access logged
  • A landing zone in the UK region you choose

A starting point, not a quote. The assessment confirms it.

How we work

  1. Every row counted.

Before and after, table by table, with checksums you can run again yourself.

  2. Always a way back.

Nothing old is switched off until you have signed the numbers.

  3. Your data stays where you say.

In the UK or EU region you choose, encrypted on the way and at rest, with access logged.

  4. You own all of it.

Code, scripts, documents and admin access are yours from day one.

Start small. Know the price before the work.

Three stages, each with its own price agreed first. You can stop after any of them.

  1. Start here

    Assessment

We study your systems and data and tell you how we would do it, what could go wrong and what it costs.

    Fixed price

  2. Then

    Delivery

The six steps above, led by one person from start to finish. You pay in stages, as each step is signed off.

    Fixed price, paid in stages

  3. After go-live

    Run

Monitoring, updates, tested backups and fixes, with response times agreed in writing.

Questions we get asked

How much data can you move?

From one database to many terabytes. The size changes the method, not the rules: we rehearse the move, count every row and prove the result before anything old is switched off.

Can it be done without stopping the business?

Usually, yes. We copy the bulk first and keep the new system in step with live changes, so the switch takes minutes. Some older systems need a short planned window; the assessment tells you which.

Where is our data while it moves?

Only in places you approve: your own cloud account in the UK or EU region you choose, or your own servers. It is encrypted on the way and at rest, and copies used for testing can be masked.

Will you work with our IT team and suppliers?

Yes. We join your channels, follow your change process and write everything down, so your team can run the new system without us if it wants to.

Do you sign NDAs and follow UK GDPR?

Yes. We are happy to sign your NDA before we see anything, and we are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ZC271018).

What does it cost?

It depends on the systems and the data, so we never guess. We start with a fixed-price assessment; it ends with a plan and a fixed price for the work.

Something else? Ask us directly or call 020 3918 3814.

Tell us what needs to move.

A few lines are enough. You hear back within one working day, from someone who does the technical work.

Happy to sign your NDA before you send us anything sensitive.

What happens next

  1. We reply and book a call at a time that suits you.
  2. On the call you show us the systems; we ask the awkward questions.
  3. You get a fixed price for the assessment, in writing.
