We know every line of the sites we build, so looking after them takes us less time. That is why they cost less.
A first check costs £79 + VAT, once. Before we change anything we go through the site top to bottom and tell you what we found.
WordPress, WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, Laravel or custom code: we look after it. Paid monthly by card. No minimum term.
Online shops (sites that take orders or payments): add £20 a month + VAT to any plan. There is more to update and more to test.
Reply times are our targets for a first reply, Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. A request sent after 3pm counts from the next working day.
On Wix, Squarespace or Shopify? Those update themselves. For changes, book hours: they never expire.

What is a website care plan?
A care plan is a monthly service that keeps a website healthy. Each month we update the software it runs on (on a WordPress site: WordPress itself, the theme and the plugins), take a full backup first, test the site afterwards, run a security check and email you a short report. The Plus and Priority plans also include time for changes.
How much does WE-DEV Care cost?
For a website we built, plans are £35, £75 and £169 a month plus VAT. For a website built by someone else they are £49, £95 and £219 a month plus VAT, with a one-off £79 plus VAT for a first check of the site. An online shop (a site that takes orders or payments) adds £20 a month plus VAT to any plan. There is no minimum term.
Why does it cost more if someone else built my website?
We know every line of the sites we build, so looking after them takes less time. A site built by someone else has to be learned first: which theme and plugins it uses, how it was put together and what state it is in. That is also why there is a one-off first check before we change anything.
Is there a contract or a minimum term?
No. You pay by card month by month and can end the plan whenever you like. It then runs to the end of the month you have already paid for, and nothing is charged after that.
What counts as a change?
Small jobs you ask for: new text, photos, prices, opening times, a new team member, a small fix. Plus includes 1 hour a month and Priority 3 hours. Time you do not use does not carry over. Anything bigger is quoted first, at our normal hourly rates.
What happens if an update breaks my website?
We take a full backup before every update, so we put the site back as it was and tell you what happened. On a site we built, finding and fixing the cause is part of the plan. On a site built by someone else it uses your time for changes, or we quote first.
Does the plan include hosting?
No. A care plan looks after the website wherever it is hosted. If you also need hosting, we offer it separately and can move the site for you.
Do you only look after WordPress websites?
No. We look after WordPress and WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, Laravel and custom-built websites. A site on a hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Shopify updates itself, so it does not need a care plan: if you want changes made to it, book hours with us instead. They never expire.
How do I change my card or stop the plan?
The email that confirms your plan has a private link. It opens a secure Stripe page where you can change the card, download your invoices or end the plan. You can also email info@we-dev.uk and we do it for you.
